What is oxygen saturation level and why is it important to monitor it?

Oxygen saturation level (SpO₂) indicates the percentage of haemoglobin in the blood that is saturated with oxygen. Oxygen is essential for the normal functioning of the brain, heart, and other organs, so monitoring its level in the blood can provide an important indication of how effectively the body is receiving and transporting oxygen.

In healthy individuals, SpO₂ is usually high. However, in certain respiratory diseases, infections, heart conditions, or other health problems, it may begin to decrease. Because reduced oxygen saturation cannot always be recognised in time based on how a person feels alone, a pulse oximeter is a practical device for quick and non-invasive SpO₂ checks at home.

Measurement results are shown on a large LED display, allowing you to read the data quickly and clearly. Cleaning and maintenance

The device must be cleaned regularly. If the area where it is used is highly contaminated or contains a large amount of dust particles and sand, the device should be cleaned more frequently. Recommended cleaning agents are diluted mild soap and 70% ethanol. Clean the product before disinfection. The disinfection procedure is the same as the cleaning procedure.

Important: Under normal conditions, a healthy person has SpO₂ between 90 and 100 percent. The most frequently measured results are between 96 and 99 percent. The lower the measured value, the more worrying the situation. Thus, when the saturation is below 94%, the supply of additional oxygen may sometimes be necessary, so it is necessary to inform your doctor about this.
